I feel so stupid that i never (really) listened to Joy Division till they hit the cinema one year ago. But since then, they became my favorite band ever. Don't blame me for being so mega-slow in this case.
Did you already listen to Hot Chip's cover of "Transmission". It's floating around on the internet for a month or so. It's a fantastic jam that leaves you wondering how other Joy Division songs might have worked out.
Please, please Hot Chip cover more Joy Division songs. your covering of JoyD doesn't destroy the original spirit of the song, so basic, i like that!

you can't really dance to fever ray but painting your face is as goog as dancing.
In case you missed it a few days ago: Fever Ray is a solo project by Karin Dreijer from the Knife. i like it. painting, driving or eating hazelnuts works well while listening to Fever Ray. eat chocolate instead of nuts! (in case you don't like hazelnuts), but just listen to it. it's psychedelic, quiet and one of the better albums this year so far.

The first thing i thought of when listening to DUM DUM Girls this morning was they sound like the the Vivian Girls but now i think DUM DUM's catchy melodies are leaving the other Girls in the dust. - Their first EP is already sold out!
And you know what, DUM DUM GIRLS is just one DUM DUM girl making all these "blissed out buzzaw" sounds. yep, she's pretty cool.
Chloe (from France) wrote a mail yesterday asking me about indie parties in Tokyo. Coz i got asked this once before, i decided to answer the e-mail here on the blog. Maybe it's helpful for someone else too... hope this is okay, Chloe..or is it Chloé with é ?
Anyway, fuck there are a lot hot parties in Tokyo. mh.. i'm not sure if i can remember all the names. There is VANITY Party every other week. It's very electro/trash/indie. young, cool kids hanging out there. VANITY has pretty impressive international guests, DJing or playing live and i liked the Vivians alot (Band from Tokyo, often playing at VANITY).
OKAY there is also "HARD TO EXPLANE" party and "Linda" , "Teenage Kicks" , "Meat" or if you like fashion/artistic/glamour "Narziß". mh, that's all i can remember now.
haha, i sketched this just now. You`re such a little bitch Chloé, when are you leaving for Tokyo? Do you wanna take me with you? TAKE ME WITH YOU!

Photo not taken by me (by Vogue). But i like it. The girl reminds me of Alice from Crystal Castles. Even though the only similarity between Alice and the girl on the photo is the haircut. Did i tell that i met Alice and Ethan in the street of Tokyo. We had a quick orange juice @ MC and they invited me to their gig, which was nice but pretty useless cos i already had a ticket :)
The gig was cool as fuck!
pfff.. actually i just wanted to say i let my hair grow till its very long and in case i won't like it i'll cut it like on the photo (the boy's haircut ofcourse).
One more thing: The Crystal Castles album is the best electro/trash/indie album of 2008 toghether with Cut Copy's "In Ghost Colours" ... but probably everyone knows this.
